USC Union Sweeps Genesee in Sunday Softball Doubleheader
USC Union powered past Genesee Community College 12–2 in the opener Sunday, using an explosive eight-run third inning to put the game away in Union. The Bantams collected 14 hits, led by Ariana Evans who went 3-for-3 with three runs scored, an RBI, a double and a stolen base. Jenna Kay Avant and Leah Taylor each drove in two runs, while June Heitman earned the win after allowing just one earned run and striking out five over five innings. USC Union completed the sweep in Game Two with a 4–1 victory behind a dominant performance from Hadley Pettit. After four scoreless innings, the Bantams broke through with four runs in the fifth to take control. Pettit went the distance in the circle, allowing three hits and one run while striking out eight over seven innings. Offensively, USC Union finished with six hits, highlighted by a double from Skyler Brown and RBI contributions from Savannah Moore and Jenna Kay Avant. The Bantams also played clean defense in the nightcap, committing no errors.
