Lady Bantams Softball Sweeps Florence Darlington Tech

Game One: Alexandra Bell didn’t allow a single run as the Lady Bantams defeated Florence Darlington Technical College 3-0 on Saturday. Bell allowed just three hits. The pitching was strong on both sides. Bell struck out ten, while #10 sat down ten. In the first inning, the Lady Bantams got their offense started when Gracie Starnes doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Florence Darlington Technical College was a single by #11 in the third inning.

#10 started the game for Florence Darlington Technical College. The pitcher allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out ten and walking zero.

The Lady Bantams launched one home run on the day. Madison Goossens went yard in the second inning. Madison Truett led the Lady Bantams with three hits in three at bats.  The Lady Bantams didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hannah Truett had the most chances in the field with 11.

Florence Darlington Technical College didn’t commit a single error in the field. #15 had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.

Game Two: The Lady Bantams ran off with the lead late in the game in a 17-11 victory over Florence Darlington Technical College on Saturday. The game was tied at 11 with the Lady Bantams batting in the top of the seventh when Hannah Truett homered on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs. Truett led the Lady Bantams to victory by driving in four runs.  Truett went 2-for-2 at the plate.  Truett drove in runs on a single in the second and a home run in the seventh. The Lady Bantams got on the board in the first inning.  Gracie Starnes tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Florence Darlington Technical College tied things up at 11. Florence Darlington Technical College scored one run when #15 singled.

Starnes was in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Bantams. The pitcher surrendered three runs on two hits over one-third of an inning, walking zero.

#10 started the game for Florence Darlington Technical College. The bulldog allowed seven hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out three.  #27 threw three innings in relief.
