The University of South Carolina Union will officially open the doors to their new Community Lab located at Union County Carnegie Library on Friday, February 25 with a ribbon cutting at 11:00am. The lab will be powered by Apple technology, complete with current iMac and iPad stations, that will be available for use by anyone in the community.

During the pandemic, it was clear that technology services are a necessity for many in South Carolina, and especially in rural communities. Gov. Henry McMaster allocated a one-time grant through the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) fund to establish eight community computer labs located at USC’s Palmetto College and regional campuses, featuring powerful Apple devices. This lab will give people access to the resources they need to further their education and more workforce training.
USC Union would like to invite the public to the ribbon cutting and to tour the lab this Friday at 11:00am.
