USC Union Softball Coach William Royce said that competing in the 2022 Adidas National Junior College Athletic (JUCO) Kickoff Classic and Showcase is a great way for team members to show off their talent for scouts and a good way to hone their skills in the pre-season.

The tournament will be held at Eddie C. Moore Park in Clearwater, Fla. Jan. 28 – 30 This will be the 13th Anniversary of the Junior College showcase tournament, and USC Union’s third invitation.
This Kickoff Tournament will attract JUCO teams from across Florida and from around the country. This event is designed specifically for all divisions of JUCO teams.
“It’s a good way to get us ready for the spring season,” he said. “There are college exposures. A lot of the NCAA and NAIA four-year schools are there and they can recruit. We’re going down there to show them what we’ve got at USC Union.”
The team has new uniforms which reflect this year’s Mizuno sponsorship.
This year’s team has 18 members from South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee. The season officially starts in February. “We are really excited about the season and we hope we have a lot of support from Union,” Royce said.
