USC Union Athletics Celebrates Outstanding 2025-2026 Year On and Off the Field

The 2025-2026 athletic year was filled with success, growth, determination, and excellence for USC Union Athletics. From impressive performances on the field and court to continued achievement in the classroom, Bantam student-athletes once again proved what it means to represent USC Union with pride.

Across every sport, USC Union athletes showcased their dedication not only through competition, but also through academic success. The overall spring GPA for all USC Union student-athletes reached an impressive 3.318, highlighting the department’s continued commitment to developing successful students, leaders, and competitors.

Several programs posted outstanding team GPAs during the spring semester:

  • Softball – 3.797
  • Volleyball – 3.586
  • Women’s Soccer – 3.539
  • Bass Fishing – 3.478
  • Men’s Soccer – 3.410
  • Men’s Golf – 3.139
  • Baseball – 3.090

These numbers reflect the hard work and commitment of USC Union student-athletes both inside and outside the classroom.

The Bass Fishing team continued to make a name for itself both competitively and academically during the 2025-2026 season. The program earned an impressive 3.478 team GPA while competing against top collegiate anglers across the country. USC Union student-athlete Chase Rogers highlighted the year with extraordinary accomplishments both on the water and in the classroom. Rogers was named the 2025-2026 Collegiate Bass Academic All-American, recognized as the top student-athlete among nearly 2,000 collegiate bass anglers nationwide. In addition to his competitive success, Rogers earned the Palmetto College Distinguished Scholar Award and continued his academic excellence with consistent President’s List recognition. His discipline, leadership, and commitment to excellence represent the very best of USC Union Athletics.

The Lady Bantam Softball team once again delivered an outstanding season, finishing among the top offensive teams in the region. The Bantams posted a remarkable .363 team batting average while scoring 435 runs and recording 25 home runs during the year. Savannah Moore emerged as one of the team’s most consistent performers, contributing offensively while providing leadership and energy throughout the season. Moore finished with 15 hits, 12 RBIs, and multiple extra-base hits while continuing to be a dependable presence in the lineup. The Bantams’ success this season was fueled by strong team chemistry, offensive production, and consistent effort game after game. Combined with the program’s outstanding 3.797 GPA, the softball team demonstrated excellence in every area.

Lady Bantam Volleyball also excelled academically, earning a team GPA of 3.586. The team continued building momentum throughout the 2025-2026 season, showing tremendous resilience and competitiveness. The Bantams averaged more than six kills and six assists per set while continuing to improve throughout the year. Multiple student-athletes contributed in key moments throughout the season, helping lead the program both offensively and defensively. The team’s communication, effort, and growth remained evident from the beginning of the season through the final match. 

Continually making strides, the Bantam Baseball team finishing with a strong start and showing promise throughout the year. The Bantams posted a .283 batting average, scored 91 runs, and compiled an impressive .440 on-base percentage while continuing to compete against tough opponents. Several players emerged as key contributors offensively, consistently helping drive production at the plate and providing leadership for the program. The team’s balanced lineup and competitive approach allowed the Bantams to remain competitive throughout the season. Baseball also demonstrated commitment in the classroom, earning a 3.090 team GPA during the spring semester.

USC Union Athletics continues to emphasize the importance of developing the complete student-athlete. Whether competing on the field, serving the community, or succeeding academically, Bantam athletes continue to raise the standard. With strong leadership, dedicated coaches, and hardworking student-athletes, USC Union Athletics continues to create an environment where students thrive both academically and athletically.
