Meet the Bantams! Each week, The Bantam Blog will be highlighting a few members of our spring sports teams! Get to know our players!

“I love traveling with my teammates,” said Jaedon Goodwin, an outfielder and right-handed pitcher from Clinton. A sophomore, his favorite USC Union memory so far has been the team’s first practice together. A fun fact about Jaedon is that he can do backflips.

Jed Howie is a sophomore Bantam Baseball player from Spartanburg. A right-handed pitcher, he is studying business and says that he is looking forward to competing in the playoffs this year. His favorite team memory so far has been beating Florence-Darlington Technical College last year. A fun fact about Jed is that he has two dogs.

“My favorite thing about being a student athlete at USC Union is talking to my professors about baseball,” said Jacob Ward, infield, of Waynesville, NC. “They want to listen.” Ward is planning to study Information Technology and says that his favorite team memory is competing in the World Series games.

“I can’t wait to see how far this team goes,” said Kamerin Lusk, a freshman and right-handed pitcher from Belton, SC. His favorite thing about being a student athlete is building friendships and hanging out with his teammates. When he is at home, Kamerin works at a “uniquely named furniture store” – THAT Furniture Store, in Belton.

Nicholas Barcelo is a freshman Biology major and middle infielder from Pembroke Pines, Florida. He also enjoys traveling with the team. A fun fact about Nicholas is that he likes dogs.

“I am glad to be able to compete and build a lifetime bond through my sport,” said Jaeden Weathers, a freshman golfer from Laurens. Jaeden plans to study accounting, and says that his favorite team memory so far has been playing at Lexington Country Club.

Logan Crawford, a freshman Bantam golfer from Ware Shoals, says that his goal is to build his skill this season. His favorite team memory so far has been playing paintball with the other campus sports teams. A fun fact about Logan is that he plays guitar.

Thomas Ray Smith, a Bantam angler from Woodruff, is hoping to place in a college fishing tournament this season. A freshman business major, he says he loves the feeling of hooking the keeper of the day. When is not fishing or doing schoolwork, Smith also operates a small business.

“My favorite thing about being on the team is being able to travel and fish in new places,” said Isaac Greene, a freshman angler and Criminal Justice major from Landrum. His favorite team memory so far has been winning a tournament. In addition to his studies and traveling with the team, Greene also works two jobs.

Freshman angler Bryson Holderness loves the flexibility of the online classes at USC Union. A native of Gilbert, SC, his favorite team memory has been starting of the year by traveling to Florida for a tournament. Bryson and Isaac also won the Clemson Bass Fishing Trail “Lake Keowee” event last fall. He wanted to make sure to shoutout Head Coach Cameron Coone for giving him the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level.
