USC Union Rolls Out New Athletics Website

University of South Carolina Union athletics department launched their new PrestoSports athletics website on Monday, January 25.

“Our athletic department and players are super excited about this site. It will help to highlight our athletes and what they do throughout the season,” Zach Simmons said. Simmons is the Bantam Athletics Director and Men’s Soccer Coach.

The athletic department has expanded to include men’s soccer, men’s baseball, and women’s softball. These teams compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association. Women’s volleyball, added in the fall of 2020, will compete in the club level and will move to NJCAA by 2022. Also competing in club level is the bass fishing team, e-sports, and rifle team.

“We’re excited to highlight the achievements of our student-athletes on this great new website, Go Bantams!” said Dr. Randy Lowell, Interim Campus Dean.

The home fields for the soccer and baseball teams are located in Jonesville, SC – a quick 9-mile drive from campus. The Bantams have also acquired the old high school gym in Jonesville that will be renovated as an indoor athletic training facility. This will be the only indoor training facility in the Bantam’s NJCAA region. The Coop, home field for the Lady Bantams, is located on Main Street a few blocks from campus, formerly known as City Park.

Marketing and Development Director, Annie Smith states “Our athletic department continues to grow and it was past time to reflect that growth and our student-athletes. The new website has capabilities to quickly access teams’ rosters, schedules, stats, and more.”
