USC Union is proud to recognize several outstanding members of our campus community who have been selected for this year’s faculty and staff awards. After meeting this week, the award committee announced the 2025–2026 recipients, honoring individuals whose dedication and work continue to strengthen the student experience on campus.
This year’s Distinguished Teacher of the Year award goes to Professor Tracy Stapleton, Instructor of Spanish. In her first year teaching at USC Union, Professor Stapleton has already made a meaningful impact on students and colleagues alike. Her recognition highlights the positive difference she has made on campus in such a short time.
Also recognized in the Distinguished Teacher category were Dr. Emily Schafer (Psychology) as first runner-up and Professor Randy Ivey (English) as second runner-up for their continued excellence in the classroom.
The Adjunct Instructor of the Year award was presented to Dr. Dave Hudson, who teaches Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Hudson’s commitment to student learning and academic excellence continues to make a strong impact on USC Union students.
The campus also recognized Mr. Robert Overton as the Staff Member of the Year for 2025–2026. His dedication and service help ensure that USC Union remains a welcoming and supportive place for students, faculty, and staff.
Please join us in congratulating all of this year’s award winners and thanking them for their hard work and commitment to making USC Union an engaging, accessible, and inclusive learning environment for our students. 🎉
