
The USC Union Lady Bantams swept USC Sumter on Sunday, winning 11–3 in Game One and 2–0 in Game Two.
In the opener, Union jumped out early with three runs in the first and two in the second to seize control. O. Prokopchudrove in three runs, including a home run, while A. Cole powered the offense with three hits and four RBIs, also homering. L. Taylor reached base four times and scored three runs, and A. Evans went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. On the mound, H. Pettit went the distance, allowing three runs to secure the 11–3 win.
Game Two turned into a pitcher’s duel before Union broke through in the second inning. Evans delivered an RBI double and M. Thompson added a sacrifice fly for the only runs of the game. J. Heitman handled the rest, tossing a complete-game shutout while working around traffic on the bases. USC Sumter stranded 12 runners and could not capitalize on its chances. The sweep showcased Union’s combination of timely power, disciplined at-bats and dominant pitching.
