
On Friday, February 20, USC Union Lady Bantams put together an explosive offensive showing sweeping Surry Knights 2026 with 15–7 and 9–2 victories.
In the opener, Cole was nearly unstoppable at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two singles and a double to lead the Bantams’ 12-hit attack. USC Union struck first on a walk by Brown in the top of the first inning. Surry answered with three runs in the bottom half, highlighted by doubles from Yates and Snow to take a 3–1 lead. The Bantams quickly flipped the momentum in the second inning, erupting for seven runs on six hits to move ahead 8–3.
Thompson delivered the key hit of the inning with a two-run single. USC Union kept the pressure on in the third, adding five more runs behind RBI hits from Rumsey, Prokopchuk and Cole. Heitman earned the win in the circle, allowing seven runs (four earned) over five innings. Campbell took the loss for Surry after surrendering 13 runs in just over two innings of work. Avant, Rumsey and Thompson each finished with multiple hits, while Evans drew three walks as the Bantams showed patience at the plate with eight free passes.
USC Union carried that momentum into the second game, securing a 9–2 victory to complete the sweep. Rumsey opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the first inning. After Surry tied the game, Taylor’s RBI single in the third gave the Bantams a lead they would not relinquish. Pettit tossed a complete game, scattering six hits and allowing just two runs over seven innings. Rumsey drove in four runs, while Smith added three hits and Prokopchuk chipped in two more. The Lady Bantams totaled 12 hits and three stolen bases.
