The USC Union baseball team capped an impressive four-game sweep of Mott Community College on February 13–14 in Jonesville.
The Bantams opened the series with a thrilling 4–3 walk-off win in Game 1 on Friday.
After building a 3–0 lead, USC Union held off a Mott comeback before pushing across the winning run in the seventh inning.
R. Murphy led the charge in the opener, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.
B. Herpolshe delivered a strong outing on the mound, tossing six innings with six strikeouts to earn the win.
In the second game Friday, USC Union secured a 5–3 victory behind a pivotal four-run fifth inning.
J. Jackson delivered the biggest hit of the game, driving in three runs and adding two stolen bases.
Starter J. Short struck out eight over 5.1 innings, and the bullpen sealed the win with hitless relief.
The Bantams carried that momentum into Saturday’s first matchup, erupting for a 10–0 shutout.
G. Underwood turned in one of the weekend’s best performances, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs and a double.
Murphy continued his hot streak with three more RBIs, while Jackson added two doubles in the win.
C. Bay controlled the game on the mound with five scoreless innings.
USC Union closed the series with another dominant performance, rolling 10–1 in the finale.
