 Malawan Humphrey Fellow to Visit University of South Carolina Union 

UNION, SC, FEBRUARY 2026 – As part of the U.S. Department of State’s 2025-2026 Hubert H.Humphrey Fellowship Program (HHH), a Fulbright exchange, thirty visiting internationalfellows will learn about U.S. higher education at twenty community colleges and share theirprofessional expertise and cultures with these campus communities.

Law Enforcement Official Leah Mwagomba from MALAWI to visit USC Union: Feb 23-27.Leah Mwagomba is a seasoned law enforcement professional serving with Malawi’s premiere anti-graft institution, the Anti-Corruption Bureau. She is deeply committed to public service, with a focus on governance, accountability, and public policy. With many years of experience as an Investigator, Leah has played a pivotal role in enhancing investigative management tools, advancing research initiatives, and leading advocacy programs aimed at strengthening institutional integrity. Her mission is to develop sustainable, multidisciplinary strategies—drawing from legal, psychological, economic, and political perspectives—that yield measurable impact. 

Each year approximately 140 Fellows pursue professional enrichment through graduate-level non-degree study and professional experiences at selected American universities. The program has a network of over 6,900 alumni from 167 countries around the world working on priority issues. The Humphrey Fellowship Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State (DOS) and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE). Fellows are matched with a community college based on mutual interests and participate in community events, meet their American counterparts.

The HHH Community College Residency Program enhances HHH Fellows’ understanding of American values and increases Americans’ global competitiveness at community colleges.
