Men’ soccer ends this season 2nd in Region 10 and boasting their fourth Player of the Year award in a row. Freshman Max Manzelmann is this year’s Region 10 Division I Player of the Year, following Mila Mzamane in 2024 and 2023, and Nico Steinweg in 2022. Manzelmann, Julien Fodisch, Pablo Valaverde, Valerio Cuscina, Steve Outtara, and Massimo Rossi were named 1st Team All Region players. Josh MacDonald received an honorable mention.

“It feels awesome, it’s an honor, but I think I got this trophy because of the team’s work,” said Manzelmann. “Soccer is a team sport, it’s a team effort, and I couldn’t have done it without the team.”
Coach Marc Curlee also received his second Coach of the Year award.

“With our Men’s Soccer season at an end here at USC Union, I would like to express the pride and appreciation I have for this year’s team,” said Curlee. “These young men have worked hard and were dedicated throughout the season. With a record of 10-2-4 and 57 goals, this is our best season since the start of the program. Though we fell short in the final, we placed at the top of the region with no losses in region play for the first time. Once again, we had seven award winners for the year, and it builds the level of excitement for next season. I know that the sophomore class gave everything and will move on to do great things in the future. Now we take some time for the holidays and prepare for the spring season. I appreciate Coach Priester’s assistance and the support of the faculty and staff. It definitely helps in getting the results we strive for.”
