“I love the people in Union, they are always smiling and asking you how you are,” said Julia Szatkowska, a volleyball player who comes to USCU from Poland. “I like that it is a small town and everybody knows who is who.”

Julia recently celebrated her sophomore day with the team, and says she hopes to transfer to another university and major in International Business after graduating. Her favorite USC Union memory so far has been playing in a scrimmage last spring and winning against a four year school. While she is away from home she misses her family and Polish food, especially Schabowy, a dish containing meat and potato salad.
A fun fact about Julia is that she has a twin sister who also attends college in the U.S. “We talk on the phone every day,” she said. “It is nice because we are in the same time zone.”
