Bantam Golfer Makes Big Swings During Fall Season

Bantam golfer Travis Gosnell is having a great first semester! Earlier this month, the freshman tied for 2nd place at the Walter State Invitational in Morristown, Tennessee and finished tied for 6th place at the SMC Pioneer Invitational.

“It’s been fun,” Gosnell said. “It has been a very good experience, seeing how we play in different environments.” Gosnell is a native of Fountain Inn and attends classes primarily at the USC Union Laurens Location. He says that succeeding in collegiate golf has always been a dream of his. “It was always my goal in high school to be good enough to play in college and get a scholarship.”

After graduating from USC Union, Gosnell hopes to play Division I golf at a four-year school and eventually become a professional golfer. Bantam Golf has played four tournaments this Fall. Gosnell says that he plans to focus on getting more consistent in his putting and chipping as they head into their Spring tournaments.

“The play of freshman golfer Travis Gosnell has come no surprise to me,” said Head Golf Coach Gil Moss. The maturity level of this young man second to none in his play. I look forward to seeing his play and development throughout the spring. I am glad he is on our team.”
