“I have always wanted to know American culture and college soccer culture,” said freshman Cladio Mirandola. This is why he came to play at USC Union from his hometown of Freiburg, Germany.
Claudio says that since being at USCU he has enjoyed the team spirit, the connection with his coaches, and the support he feels from other teams on campus.

A fun fact about Claudio is that he is half-Italian, half-German, and his family runs a pizzeria back home. “Some of the restaurants are at soccer clubs, so I grew up working in the restaurant and on the soccer field,” he said. When he is away from home, Claudio misses his workout sessions with his twin brother.
After graduating from USC Union, Claudio hopes to study exercise science and eventually become a personal trainer.

Matias Jaramillo is a sophomore soccer player from Bolivia. Like most of the team, he came to USC Union for the opportunity to play soccer and complete his studies side by side. “Here, I have gotten to have new experiences and grow as a man,” he said. “The team here is a unit, and I have made very good friends.”
After graduating, Matias hopes to have the opportunity to play pro soccer, but also knows he can put his business studies to good use in a professional career. He says his goal for this year is to maintain a good GPA. His favorite class at USC Union has been Film Studies.
