The USC Union Bantams soccer team traveled to Due West, SC, on Monday, August 18, to take on NCAA Division II Erskine College, earning a 3-1 result.
Felix Hebbeler and Max Manzelmann, both freshman and international student athletes from Germany, made goals. Steve Outtara, a sophomore for West Africa, also made a goal.
“It was the team’s first time out, and they really came together and worked well,” said Head Coach Marc Curlee.
The 2025 Bantam men’s soccer team is comprised of 25 players, representing 11 different countries. They are coming off a historic 2024 season, where sophomore winger Mila Mzamane received the NJCAA Region 10 Player of the Year award for two consecutive years, following Nico Steinweg in 2022, meaning the award was given to a USC Union player three years in a row. They finished the 2024 season just short of the Region 10 D1 championship.
Catch men’s soccer for their next game at Coker University on Monday, August 25 at 6:00 PM or for their first home game against Denmark Technical College on Wednesday, September 3 at 4:00 PM.
