Zach Simmons, USC Union’s Athletic Director, is a native of Union. He received his Bachelor of Organizational Leadership degree from North Greenville University in 2016, where he played soccer. “I played multiple sports growing up, but my true passion has always been soccer,” he said. Simmons has coached soccer at both the high school and collegiate level. Simmons has been excited to see the growth of Bantam Athletics’ facilities during his time at USC Union. “My favorite update so far has been getting artificial turf in our indoor facility,” he said.

Zach has been with his wife, Erin, for 13 years. The couple welcomed their first child, Emberly Mae Simmons, in August 2024.
“Our goal for this year is to continue striving for greatness,” he said. “We aim to improve upon last year’s performance and achieve even greater success than the year before. That commitment starts in the classroom and carries over to the field.”
Cameron Jackson, Assistant Athletic Director, is a former Lady Bantam softball player and native of Wagener, SC. Cameron received her associate’s in science from USC Union in 2022 and went on to earn a bachelor’s in Physical Education and Master’s in Sports Administration from Coker University, where she also played softball.

“My favorite USC Union memory had been coming back to be the assistant athletic director and seeing how much the school and athletic department has grown since I played here,” said Cameron.
A fun fact about Cameron is that she has a dog, Rhett (named after her favorite singer, Thomas Rhett) and that they share a birthday. Outside of work, Cameron loves reading, playing/watching sports, going to the gym, and listening to music. “This summer I went to as many concerts as I could,” she said.
“This year, I want our student athletes to grow on and off the field/court,” said Cameron. “I want them to grow as people and as athletes and I want to be there for them as much as possible and create an environment that is their home away from home.”
