USC Union Bantams Dominate USC Lancers in a Resounding 11-1 Victory

On May 4, 2025, the USC Union Bantams delivered a commanding performance against the USC Lancers, securing an 11-1 victory in a game that showcased their offensive prowess and solid pitching. The matchup, held at the Lancers’ home field, saw the Bantams taking control early and never relinquishing their lead.

 The Bantams’ offensive explosion was highlighted by a massive third inning where they scored eight runs. This rally was initiated by Markus Kirksey‘s double, which drove in Aiden Talarico. The inning continued with a mix of singles, a wild pitch, and sacrifices that kept the scoreboard ticking in favor of the Bantams.

 Mason Elrod was a standout performer for the Bantams, contributing three RBIs and two hits, while Aiden TalaricoJustin Skorupski, and Cohl Harding each added doubles to the team’s tally. Mikey Scott also played a crucial role, driving in two runs.

 Blake Baldwin delivered an impressive performance on the mound for the Bantams. He pitched a complete game, allowing only four hits and one unearned run while striking out six Lancers. Baldwin’s control and composure kept the Lancers’ hitters at bay throughout the game.

Defensive errors also played a part in the game, with the Lancers committing two errors, which contributed to their downfall. The Bantams had three errors, but they were able to mitigate the impact through their strong offensive showing.

The USC Union Bantams’ victory over the USC Lancers was a testament to their well-rounded team effort, combining effective hitting, strategic base running, and solid pitching. 

USC Union Triumphs Over USC Sumter in a Thrilling Match

In an intense college baseball face-off on May 5, 2025, USC Union edged out USC Sumter with a final score of 6-4. The match, held in Lexington, saw a gripping battle unfold, with USC Union capitalizing on early opportunities to secure their victory.

The game kicked off with USC Union’s A. Talarico setting the tone with a solo home run to right field in the first inning. Talarico continued to be a pivotal player, contributing significantly with both his bat and his speed on the bases. He ended the game with three hits, two RBIs, and three runs, including a crucial double in the fourth inning that brought R. Murphy home.

USC Union maintained their momentum in the third inning, where M. Kirksey’s single to center field drove in two runs, extending their lead to 3-0. J. Skorupski further added to the tally with an RBI single, bringing the score to 4-0.

USC Sumter attempted a comeback, starting with a sacrifice fly from C. McMeans in the third inning, which brought S. Kirby home. However, their efforts were stifled by USC Union’s strong pitching lineup, which included standout performances from L. Kolesha and C. Goings.

In the fifth inning, USC Sumter’s N. Foster managed to narrow the gap with an RBI after being hit by a pitch, scoring C. McMeans. Foster later showcased his power in the ninth inning with a two-run homer, bringing the score to 6-4. Despite this late surge, USC Sumter couldn’t overcome the deficit.

On the mound, USC Sumter’s J. Martin delivered an impressive performance in relief, pitching six scoreless innings and striking out seven. However, the early damage done by USC Union’s batters proved too much for USC Sumter to overcome.

Bantam Baseball players Mason ElrodMarkus Kirksey, and Aiden Talarico made First Team All Region and Carson Bay made Second Team All Region.
