USC Union Bantam baseball split with the Cleveland Community College Yetis on Sunday, March 3, winning 9-3 in the second game.
USC Union opened the scoring in the bottom of the second thanks to two home runs. The Bantams first got on the board when Blake Exizian homered to center field, scoring two runs.
USC Union extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to home runs by Jordan Fricks and Brett Boone.
Blake Baldwin earned the win for the Bantams. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Colby Helms, Alex Simmons, and Andrew Bright each threw scoreless innings for USC Union in relief.
The Bantams tallied 12 hits in the game. Boone, Fricks, Exizian, and Mason Elrod each collected two hits for USC Union. Exizian went 2-for-2 at the plate as the third baseman led the team with three runs batted in. USC Union turned one double play in the game.
