Meet the Bantams! Each week, The Bantam Blog will be highlighting a few members of our spring sports teams! Get to know our players!

Kyler Murray is a sophomore USC Union Angler from Modoc, SC, currently working towards his Associate of Science at USC Union. He loves being able to travel with the team and meet people from other fishing teams. “My favorite fishing team memory so far is Jacob Butts catching an 11lb bass in Florida,” he said. When he is not fishing, Kyler enjoys golfing.

Angler Mark Kershaw is looking forward to competing in the national championships this season. A senior from Fort Mill, SC, he is pursuing a bachelor’s in business Managment and Administration from Palmetto College. His favorite thing about USC Union how easy it is to communicate with professors and get help when you need it.

Bantam Golfer Julian “Alex” Styer is looking forward to building his game and strengthening his connections on campus this year. A freshman International Business major from Ware Shoals, his favorite team memory so far has been playing with the team on their trip to Lexington Country Club. A fun fact about Julian is that he is left-handed.

“There’s never a dull moment when the team is together,” said Andrew Gonzalez, a freshman golfer from Hodges, SC. He is studying Human Services and is looking forward to competing in his first collegiate matches this season. Outside of school, Andrew is a big NASCAR fan and enjoys collecting hats.

“My favorite thing about being a student at USC Union is getting to meet people from all around,” said Ashton Faulkenberry, a freshman golfer and business major from Chester, SC. He is looking forward to travelling with the team this semester. “My favorite memory so far is the first practice of the season when I met all my teammates,” he said. Ashton enjoys white water rafting in his free time.

“I am looking forward to competing on the field with a special, tight knit group of guys,” said Kris Levensteins, a baseball player and sophomore business major from Arvado, Colorado. His favorite team memory is beating Florence-Darlington at the Region Tournament last spring. When he is home in Colorado, Kris enjoys fly fishing.

Bantam baseball player Brayden Corn is a sophomore from Hendersonville, NC, majoring in business. “I’m glad to be with my team this whole season and play with my coaches,” he said. A fun fact about Brayden is that he loves going to the beach.

Clayton Goff is a sophomore baseball player from Sumter, SC. He is grateful for the opportunity to play with his teammates at USC Union. When he is not on the field, Clayton likes to fish.

“We were playing great at last year’s region tournament,” said sophomore baseball player Mason Stepp. “I’m looking forward to it this year.” A native of Waynesville, NC, he is pursuing his Associate of Science. Mason also enjoys travelling out west to fly fish.
