Bantam Baseball won two games against Limestone College on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Game 1: Limestone was first on the board in the first game when an error scored a run, but the Bantams took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Mason Elrod singled, and Tyler Strickland singled, each scoring one run.
A single by Michael Adams gave USC Union the lead, 3-2 in the bottom of the second. The Bantams added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Brett Boone homered to the right field, and Strickland singled, each scoring one run.
Brayden Corn hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the fifth. Landen Vo earned the win for the Bantams. The reliever surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Trevor Merck stepped on the hill first for USC Union. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Limestone’s starting pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking one. Jordan Fricks collected the save. Kam Lusk appeared in relief. USC Union won the game 6-4.
The Bantams accumulated 10 hits in the game. Adams, Strickland, and Elrod each collected two hits. Strickland went 2-for-3 at the plate as the infielder led the team with two runs batted in. USC Union stole five bases and turned one double play in the game.

Game 2: The Bantams won the second game 7-0, getting on the board at the bottom of the third inning after Jordan Fricks doubled scoring one run and Tyler Strickland homered to right field, scoring two runs.
Alex Simmons earned the win for USC Union, allowing one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Colby Helms, Seth Hanson, and Andrew Bright each threw shutout innings for USC Union in relief.
USC Union tallied 11 hits in the game, Fricks, Strickland, and Mason Elrod each collecting two hits. Strickland provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led USC Union with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-4 on the day. USC Union had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Fricks and Michael Barron led the team with two bases on balls each, USC Union turned one double play in the game.
